Here to help you and your furry friends
From new puppies learning to sit, to rugged old rescues who need to trust again, we use positive reinforcement to elicit sustained behavioural change
Dog & Bone was formed by two siblings who share a passion for dogs. Both of us have ample experience with puppies and dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments, and love to share our knowledge with you and your canine companions. Borne from a desire to help foster dogs succeed in their new homes, we studied and volunteered to hone our skills and aim to help dogs and owners communicate more effectively together, so everyone can live a happier and more fulfilled life
Alana began her career as a dog trainer in 2019, after training with the National Dog Trainers Federation, which built on her experience as a foster carer. At the time of this writing, she has fostered more than 30 dogs, ranging from a few weeks to a few years old, and the training she provided to them aided many of them in finding their furever homes. She continues to foster in her new home in Queensland, with the enthusiastic help of her own dog Noah.
Jake had a crash course in counter-conditioning for dog reactivity in 2016, when he rescued a Staffie with his partner. They engaged and learnt from a number of dog trainers, and used a variety of techniques to eventually allow her to be near other animals. Since then he has helped Alana train a number of her foster dogs, and began full time work as a dog trainer, walker, and sitter in January 2021. He is currently studying Dog Training and Behaviour with the National Dog Trainers Federation
